Enabling Accurate Address Capture And Rapid Addressing Functionality, 'Anytime, Anywhere'

Capscan, a leading supplier of international address solutions and data integrity services, today announced it has developed new versions of its flagship products Matchcode and Zapcode, for use on the Microsoft .NET framework. Capscan's address management solution Matchcode and rapid addressing tool Zapcode for .NET provides businesses with mobile workers or customer facing operations, such as call centres, with full address data validation and data capture ensuring an accurate and up-to-date address database.

Microsoft.NET is the Microsoft Web Services strategy to connect information, people, systems and devices through software and is a component of the Windows operating system. Users logon to a middle-tier server (normally a Web server) that accesses the back-end databases and legacy systems, retrieves the required data and then forwards this to the user as an HTML Web page. This means that anyone, anywhere with a web-browser can be given direct access to software running on .NET.

"The development of Matchcode and Zapcode for .NET means that Capscan customers can access quality address validation and postcode look-up functionality from anywhere, on any device running .NET once they are logged on to their server," says Managing Director of Capscan, Terry Hiles. "This is particularly beneficial to businesses with mobile workers, field sales teams or call centres, as they can capture and validate address data on Matchcode or Zapcode for .NET via a Web browser without needing to install any software at all on their device."

Address data captured by the user via Matchcode and Zapcode for .NET is centralised to ensure the business retains a high degree of control over the database.

Matchcode for .NET ensures that contact databases are only populated with accurate and up-to-date address and names information. It does this by comparing records to the 27 million addresses in Royal Mail's Postcode Address File (PAF). As well as a stand-alone programme for data capture and address validation, it is available for batch cleansing of the address database. Zapcode for .NET is Capscan's data capture solution for online applications, which enables a user to enter a postcode and select a complete, accurate address from a returned list common to the postcode.
